The Tacoma Community College (TCC) Paralegal Studies Program is seeking your assistance for our students. Below are three opportunities to provide support to our TCC paralegal studies students, as well as a teaching opportunity in our program. If you are unfamiliar with the TCC Paralegal Studies program, please note that we are an ABA approved Paralegal Studies program that provides post-secondary education for an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies (91 credits), as well as a Professional Certificate in Paralegal Studies (53 credits) for students who have already earned a qualifying post-secondary degree. We are educating the future paralegals for your legal offices. If you have any questions about our programs, please feel free to email Backen@tacomacc.edu.

The teaching opportunity is a part-time faculty position who would be teaching in-person for day and evening courses depending on the quarter. It is likely that this faculty member will be teaching a writing course as well as substantive law courses. Further, the faculty will need to use CANVAS as the learning management system. You can apply and find more information about this position at the TCC Employment Page. Please note that TCC cannot consider any applicants unless the TCC application is completed.

The three opportunities to support our Paralegal Studies students included the following:

    1. Be a Panelist at a Paralegal Studies Roundtable event for students on January 27, 2026, from 12:00 - 2:30 p.m.

      • This event will be at the TCC Tacoma campus and panelist will be discussing and answering questions on the topic,  Paralegal Relationships: How to Create and Maintain Professional Relationships with Legal Professionals, Co-Workers, and Clients.

    2. Assist Paralegal Studies students at a Resume/Cover Letter workshop on April 30, 2026

      • You would meet students at the TCC Tacoma campus to review and provide feedback on their resumes and cover letters. This would require approximately two hours.

    3. Host a Paralegal Intern

      • Students in the Paralegal Studies program at TCC are required to take a five-credit internship course. This requires students to complete a minimum of 132 hours in an academic quarter at a legal office as a paralegal intern.

You can sign up for any of these three opportunities by using the QR code below or at this link. Also, please share these opportunities with your legal support staff.
