    About the OnRamp Fellowship

The OnRamp Fellowship is a re-entry platform that matches experienced women lawyers returning to the profession with law firms for one-year, paid positions.  This unique experiential learning program gives returning women lawyers – many of whom have opted out of the legal field for a period of time to raise children – an opportunity to demonstrate their value in the marketplace while also broadening their experience, skills, and legal contacts.  The program aims to replenish the talent pipeline in law firms with diverse, high-performing lawyers who have the potential and the desire to advance into leadership roles.

The 15 participating firms (listed below) have posted positions across the country in 24 cities, including:  Atlanta, Austin, Birmingham, Boston, Broomfield, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Palo Alto, Philadelphia, Reston, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Silicon Valley, Tampa, Twin Cities, and Washington, D.C. Opportunities exist in more than 15 practice areas, including antitrust, corporate, emerging companies, energy, FDA regulatory, finance, government contracts, intellectual property, international trade, investment management, labor and employment, litigation, real estate, securities, tax, tech transactions, trusts and estates, and white collar.

To apply or learn more, please click here.

Please note:  Since a goal of the Fellowship is to increase the number of women in leadership roles within law firms, applicants should have a strong interest in working for and advancing within a law firm environment.

“Restoring our City, Restoring Connections, Restoring Ourselves”

Featuring Andrea Brenneke, Director of Restorative Justice for the City of Seattle

Restorative Justice. Restorative Practices. Communities can come together to repair harm, heal, and restore balance after painful conflict or crime occurs.  During our annual evening gala and celebration, Andrea Brenneke will inspire us to be part of an emerging network embracing this transformative practice in Seattle/King County and beyond.  Evolving with humanity, many Restorative Practices, such as Justice Circles, have deep roots in indigenous cultures and traditions.  Finding revival today, they offer a positive alternative to punitive justice and result in safer, more equitable, empowered, and resilient communities.  When people and relationships are violated, resolution is found in understanding and accountability versus blame and punishment. It is a process of healing and empowerment.

Join us on a powerful day of remembrance and WBE’s big night out, September 11, as we learn how to be involved in the Restorative Justice movement.  We will explore how Restorative Practices and principles can help us deepen our own relationships and resiliency when faced with interpersonal conflicts or the most tragic of crimes.

Andrea brings to this work twenty years of experience as a civil rights and employment lawyer with MacDonald Hoague & Bayless in Seattle (1992-2013).  Andrea’s education includes: Harvard Law School, J.D. cum laude, 1992; University of Washington, BA with Honors and Distinction in Political Science, cum laude, 1988.  Andrea’s public service includes a long history of engagement and grassroots involvement in her community and she is a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow (2000). She served on the Washington State Bar Association’s Board of Governors, the board and legal committee of Legal Voice (formerly the Northwest Women’s Law Center), and Chaired the King County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division. She served for many years as an Amicus Committee member of the Washington Employment Lawyers Association and has been a long time Eagle supporter of the Washington Association of Justice (formerly WSTLA).  She is a former board member of the Compassionate Action Network, Intl (now Charter for Compassion, Int’l).

It’s also about food intolerances, environmental toxins and stress, as well as about antibiotics and your social interactions. In this talk, you will learn easy steps you can take to build a Super Immunityundefinedthe kind that can fight the common cold as well as more serious diseases.  Come join us and our speaker Laren Watson to find out more!

Laren Watson - Laren Watson is a Board Certified Holistic Health Coach and Stage IV Cancer Survivor. Having discovered she had a dairy allergy in her 40’s, she cleaned up her diet and reaped the benefits of figuring out what foods her body liked, only to discover four years later that the stress on her immune system all those years had potentially allowed for a rare type of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma to grow undetected. She has spent the past year ridding her body of cancer and is passionate about sharing all that she has learned as a health coach and cancer survivor. She strongly believes that it is not only nutritious food but a healthy lifestyle that creates a balanced, healthy bodyundefinedone that will thrive in today’s high stress culture. She speaks at corporations, has individual coaching clients, and has published numerous articles on various wellness websites.
