    The Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has an opening for a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney I in its Family Support Division.  The primary responsibility of this position is to provide professional legal services to the State Division of Child Support.  Specifically, a DPA I:

    This is a unique opportunity to work alongside the Investment Management practice’s attorneys and staff in counseling and advising our highly acclaimed set of clients in connection with their investments in a wide range of complex alternative investments, domestic and international private equity and hedge fund investments, real estate transactions and investment management agreements.     The Federal Bar Association is accepting applications for a Lawyer Representative position from the Eastern District of Washington to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.  Lawyer Representatives are appointed by the Judges of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.  The term of appointed is typically three years.  Past Lawyer Representatives have found this to be a very rewarding and fulfilling professional experience. Any attorney admitted to practice in this District is encouraged to apply.
     
    During their term of service, Lawyer Representatives attend the annual Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, held in the summer of each year. They are eligible to participate in various Ninth Circuit and District Court liaison activities and committees. In their third year, they usually serve on the Lawyer Representatives Coordinating Committee (LRCC) for the Circuit and they participate in at least two additional meetings outside the District such as the Conference Executive Committee, Chief District Judges Annual Meeting, or the Chief Bankruptcy Judges Annual meeting.     About the Office: The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Washington has three offices. The main office is located in Spokane, a branch office is located in Yakima, and an unstaffed office is located in Richland. This District employs approximately 55 personnel, including six Assistant United States Attorneys and five support staff assigned to the Yakima branch office. The office has a competent, friendly, and talented staff, and an outstanding relationship with its client-agencies.

    Job Description: The office currently has an Assistant United States Attorney position available in the Criminal Division, Yakima branch office. The attorney selected will be part of a dedicated team assisting in the enforcement and prosecution of federal criminal laws. The primary assignments for this attorney will be the investigation and prosecution of white collar fraud and economic crimes, but will also include a wide-range of criminal matters involving firearms, drug trafficking, immigration, counterfeiting, child exploitation, explosives, and violent crimes. This is a full-time, permanent position.

    The branch office is located in the city of Yakima in central Washington. The Eastern District of Washington is comprised of 20 counties and is bordered by Canada to the north, Oregon to the south, Idaho to the east, and the summit of the Cascade Mountains to the west. This area is rich in rolling farm land, forested mountains, and arid desert. Because this area celebrates four distinct seasons, recreational opportunities are numerous and include, bicycling, hiking, snow skiing, water sports, fishing and hunting.     Qualifications: 

    Required qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar (any jurisdiction), and have at least 4 years post-J.D. experience. United States citizenship is required.

    Preferred qualifications: Applicants must possess excellent research and writing skills, superior oral communication skills, and a demonstrated capacity to function, with minimal guidance, in a highly demanding environment. Ideal applicants will possess significant trial or other relevant experience involving white collar fraud and/or economic crimes. Applicants must exhibit the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with attorney team leaders, attorneys, staff, and client agencies.

    Salary: Assistant United States Attorneys' pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number years of professional attorney experience. The range of basic pay is $45,477 to $120,365 plus locality pay where authorized.

    Travel: The attorney selected for this position in the Yakima branch office will travel frequently to Richland, which is approximately 85 miles from Yakima, and occasionally to Spokane which is approximately 200 miles from Yakima.
