    Deputy Prosecuting Attorney I, Family Support Division, Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney

    The Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has an opening for a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney I in its Family Support Division.  The primary responsibility of this position is to provide professional legal services to the State Division of Child Support.  Specifically, a DPA I:

    ·         litigates child support actions as assigned

    ·         establishes support orders, back support judgments, enforces valid child support orders, responds to pleadings or court actions to defend or protect the State interests, and files modification actions as required

    ·         manages appeals of cases in assigned caseload

    ·         evaluates income information for purposes of establishing child support obligations and/or obligations for past child support

    ·         effectively manages assigned caseload in a timely and professional manner

    Foster Pepper’s Investment Management practice is seeking a highly motivated junior to mid-level associate (two to three years post qualification experience) to join our team of talented professionals in the Seattle office.

    This is a unique opportunity to work alongside the Investment Management practice’s attorneys and staff in counseling and advising our highly acclaimed set of clients in connection with their investments in a wide range of complex alternative investments, domestic and international private equity and hedge fund investments, real estate transactions and investment management agreements. In addition, the associate will work on other legal matters impacting our clients, including the impact of applicable domestic and foreign laws and regulations relating to alternative investments.

    The candidate must have at least two years of experience at a major law firm in the United States, in investment management, private equity, securities and other financial and alternative investment transactions. Comfort with drafting complex documents, acute attention to detail and strong negotiation skills are required, as well as actively participating on conference calls with clients and eventually negotiating key terms and structuring of the investments with sponsor or opposing counsel.  The candidate must also have a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in the United States.     The Federal Bar Association is accepting applications for a Lawyer Representative position from the Eastern District of Washington to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.  Lawyer Representatives are appointed by the Judges of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.  The term of appointed is typically three years.  Past Lawyer Representatives have found this to be a very rewarding and fulfilling professional experience. Any attorney admitted to practice in this District is encouraged to apply.
     
    During their term of service, Lawyer Representatives attend the annual Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, held in the summer of each year. They are eligible to participate in various Ninth Circuit and District Court liaison activities and committees. In their third year, they usually serve on the Lawyer Representatives Coordinating Committee (LRCC) for the Circuit and they participate in at least two additional meetings outside the District such as the Conference Executive Committee, Chief District Judges Annual Meeting, or the Chief Bankruptcy Judges Annual meeting.     There are five lawyer representative positions for the Eastern District of Washington, each serving staggered terms.  Geographic diversity is encouraged with at least one position being filled from outside the Spokane area (e.g. Walla Walla, Tri-Cities, Wenatchee, Yakima, Moses Lake, Pullman, or Colville areas).  The Court also desires to balance the selection between those with Civil, Criminal, and Bankruptcy practices.
