Incarcerated Parents Project Attorney
Now hiring resource attorney for Incarcerated Parents Project at statewide nonprofit association and resource center for public defenders. The position is responsible for technical assistance to dependency attorneys and criminal defense attorneys representing incarcerated parents, development of resource publications, and coordinating amicus and policy change work. Requirements: Three (3) years of public defense, dependency practice experience, and/or dependency knowledge and criminal justice policy experience, with a strong preference for experience working with incarcerated parents or formerly incarcerated parents. Experience working with low-income clients is preferred. Must have demonstrated commitment to social justice and understanding of the intersections of race, class, gender and sexuality as it pertains to child welfare and criminal justice systems. Must be licensed to practice law in Washington State or licensed within six months of date of hire. WDA values diverse perspectives and life experiences.
