Role Overview
Stoel Rives LLP is seeking an attorney with 4-7 years of experience in privacy and data security matters. Experience in IP-related transactions, including licensing agreements, M&A, and commercial agreements, and in Artificial Intelligence (AI) matters, is preferred.

Substantial experience (4-7 years) with privacy and data security matters, including:
- Counseling businesses regarding compliance with federal and state privacy laws and collaborating on the preparation and implementation of privacy and data/cybersecurity programs, policies, and procedures
- Assisting clients in cybersecurity incident response matters, including analyzing whether a data breach has occurred and notifying data subjects and regulators
- Drafting external and internal privacy notices and policies and reviewing and negotiating data processing agreements
- Experience with IP related transactions, including licensing agreements, M&A, and commercial agreements (preferred)
- Experience providing legal and practical guidance on AI products and advising clients on AI development and risks, with a focus on privacy and intellectual property (preferred)
- Membership in the state bar for the market where you are applying, or the ability to become barred in that state.

How You Will Live Life Well at Stoel Rives: Compensation, Benefits, and More!
This position can sit in any of our offices and the salary range is based on market location. The pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $225,000-$270,000; in Minneapolis the range is $207,000-$230,000; in Portland the range is $189,000-$225,000. However, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience.
In addition to base compensation, Stoel Rives has a total rewards program that includes an annual discretionary bonus and rich benefits offerings.
