Experience and Qualifications

Miller Nash seeks an experienced environmental law attorney to join its team in either Seattle, WA or Portland, OR. Our team has a broad range of experience, clients, and practices areas. Our ideal candidate is hard working, ambitious, a team player, responsive, and has a proven ability to bring in clients. The candidate should have experience arising from air, water and waste issues, and have a solid understanding of the major environmental statutes and regulatory programs, such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, NEPA and CERCLA.

Experienced Data Privacy and Cyber Security Attorney (Seattle)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Seattle office of Miller Nash is seeking an attorney with at least 10+ years of experience counseling organizations in the context of data privacy, regulatory investigation, single-plaintiff and class action litigation.

In this role, the attorney will work in a collaborative, team environment with the existing data privacy and security team to provide legal counsel to organizations investigating and responding to data privacy and cybersecurity incidents. The ideal candidate will have experience representing clients in FTC or State Attorney General privacy, data security, or other consumer protection investigations. Experience with discovery and brief writing in consumer class actions or other civil litigation is required. 

Knowledge of US federal and state privacy laws, including FTC Act, CCPA, and COPPA. Knowledge and experience with FCRA, GLBA, CAN-SPAM, VPPA, TCPA, BIPA, breach notification laws, GDPR, and self-regulatory regimes (such as NAI and DAA) is a plus. Significant portable business is required. Membership in the Washington State Bar Association or qualification for reciprocity is required.
