2023 KCWWL Law School Scholarship Recipients
Yasmine Haro is the 2023 KCWWL Seattle University School of Law Scholarship Recipient. Yasmine is a member of Seattle University's inaugural Flex Program, which allows for a 3.5-year education with evening classes, virtual attendance, and the ability to work concurrently. Last summer, Yasmine served as an extern with the Anchorage Department of Law's Child Protection Division. This year, she will be serving both as an extern for Judge Jennifer Andrews at the Pierce County Superior Court and as a Fellow for the University of Texas's Non-Profit Institute. Outside of school, Yasmine co-owns an online intersectional feminist book review called Mistress of the House Books and is also a full-time nanny to two awesome kids.
Taylor Shoecraft is the 2023 KCWWL University of Washington School of Law Scholarship Recipient. Taylor worked for a decade in Washington as a child welfare social worker and as an Adjunct Professor at the Seattle University School of Social Work before pursuing her dream of attending law school. Now at the University of Washington School of Law, Taylor currently serves as the President of the UW Black Law Student Association and as a leader of the Anti-Racist Student Coalition. Last summer, Taylor worked as a Summer Associate with the Summit Law Group. Outside of law school, Taylor works as the director for a college and career program for youth of color and runs a youth group every Thursday for young women of color.
