    Position Description:


    The Office for Labor Standards (OLS) is seeking a temporary Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support for investigations relating to enforcement of Seattle's labor standards laws.

    The City of Seattle is a national leader on wage, labor and workforce practices that enhance equity. To address wage gaps and create a fair and healthy economy for workers, businesses and residents, the City of Seattle created an Office of Labor Standards (OLS) in late 2014. OLS implements City ordinances on minimum wage (MWO), paid sick and safe time (PSST), use of criminal history in employment decisions (JAO), wage theft (WT) and other laws that the City may enact in the future. OLS is housed within the Seattle Office for Civil Rights (SOCR). SOCR enforces federal and civil rights laws; leads the Race and Social Justice Initiative, the City of Seattle's long-term commitment to end racism and achieve racial equity in Seattle; and coordinates the Gender Justice Project, a more recent initiative to close the wage gap for Seattle workers.
