The Legal Department at Washington Trust Bank understands that it is WTB's passion and unwavering commitment to its clients that has served as a foundation of continued success for over 100 years. We also understand that in an industry that is highly regulated and often complex, meeting this standard can at times be challenging, if not frustrating. It is for that reason we aim to provide WTB employees with the legal knowledge necessary to allow them to focus on what they can do for their client as opposed to what they cannot. We have a Corporate Counsel opportunity for someone who shares in our this overarching goal.
Working in association with the General Counsel as a member of the Legal team, the Corporate Counsel focuses on corporate governance, deposit and wealth management transactions, and legal support. Provides legal research and advice in support of branch activities and fiduciary transactions. Drafts documents, policies and agreements primarily related to commercial bank business and occasionally litigation matters. Researches and analyzes law sources to prepare legal documents. Coordinates with internal departments and outside regulatory agencies as needed.
