Title:  Assistant Chief Review Judge

This position is being created in response to the new Paid Family Medical Leave Act. It is for a Assistant Chief to run a unit of Review Judges at the Employment Security Department in Lacy, WA. The review judges review appeals from decisions made by administrative law judges at  the Office of Administrative Hearings-- one option for litigants is to appeal an OAH ruling to the agency itself. 

The ideal candidate will love the idea of being in on the creation of a new unit, and will have the energy and vision to create an efficient and well-run system. The ideal candidate will also enjoy supervising a group of review judges, and be capable in that regard. Finally, the job will require some political savvy, as the Chief Review Judge and the Assistant Chief Review Judge are both liaisons between ESD and other agencies, etc. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be in on setting up a system at the ground level.
