Corporate Counsel – Corporate Development – Seattle, WA

As Starbucks corporate counsel – corporate development, you will primarily support the Corporate Development & Business Alliances group at Starbucks. You will provide legal counsel and support on the structuring, negotiation, and drafting of documents for key strategic alliances, joint ventures, partnerships, and other complex commercial transactions, and assistance in the company’s execution of new business or investment opportunities in line with key business strategies. In addition, you will support one or more other business units, which may involve general commercial transactions, such as digital ventures, technology, or licensing matters. You will leverage your prior experience with public companies, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance in this role, and experience in international, food and beverage, retail, digital, and mobile technology industries is a plus.
Leveraging your previous experience, we will enable you to:
· Engage – Work on a wide variety of critical corporate partnerships and initiatives with a fast-paced, energetic business team.
· Guide – Provide strategic legal counseling to the leaders of the Corporate Development & Business Alliances group, as well as the adjacent businesses and functions that collaborate with and support it.
· Collaborate – Team with other supporting functions and Law & Corporate Affairs partners to provide cross-functional support, including on matters of antitrust, technology, intellectual property, litigation, real estate, tax, accounting and employment, and provide guidance and support to paralegals and other members of the department.
We’d love to hear from people with:
· 5-8 years of relevant substantive legal experience in a law firm or company legal department
· License to practice law in pertinent jurisdictions
