STAFF ATTORNEY/DNA FELLOW

INNOCENCE PROJECT NORTHWEST, founded in 1997 at the University of Washington School of Law, has an immediate opening for a Staff Attorney to serve as our DNA Fellow. This position is funded by a two-year NIJ/Bloodsworth grant and will manage an active caseload of post-conviction DNA cases while working to expand access to DNA testing for eligible prisoners. In addition to litigating post-conviction DNA motions throughout Washington, the fellow will conduct prisoner outreach and help recruit, train and coordinate with our pro bono partners.

Applicants must be admitted or eligible for admission to the Washington State Bar and have experience litigating motions in criminal, innocence or post-conviction matters. Attorneys familiar with Washington’s post-conviction DNA testing laws, forensic science and DNA evidence, as well as those fluent in Spanish are desired.
