Title: Estate Planning, Probate & Taxation Attorney


Supervises: N/A


Reports to: Managing Partner


FLSA Status: Exempt


When Needed: Immediately


FTE:Full-Time, Regular


Compensation: $100,000-$140,000 annually

PRK Livengood is seeking a mid-level, highly motivated estate planning, probate and taxation attorney who is licensed to practice in Washington State. Job Summary:

Craft individualized estate planning documents for clients, oversee the administration of estates, prepare estate and gift tax returns, and assist in other practice areas as needed.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Works with partner-level attorneys to provide research, writing, estate planning, probate, and taxation support on various legal issues

  • Communicates with clients to understand their legal concerns and needs to help provide them with essential pieces of advice

  • Strategizes on how to resolve the clients’ issues in a favorable and cost-effective manner

  • Stays informed about any current legislation

  • Builds trustworthy relationships with clients

  • Excellent research and writing skills

  • Vigorously engages in their own professional development

  • Possesses the attention to detail required understanding and implementing tax-based strategies

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Education & Experience:

  • Experience working with and drafting probate and estate planning documents required

  • Experience preparing trust and estate annual and final accountings

  • Experience compiling tax information and preparing estate tax returns and gift tax returns

  • Business/corporate experience a plus, but not required

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

  • Minimum 3 years’ estate planning and probate experience required

  • Master of Law in Taxation (LLM) preferred 

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Washington State


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience in drafting estate planning, probate and trust documents

  • Strong knowledge in preparation of estate tax returns

  • Knowledge of tax preparation software (knowledge of GEMS is a plus)

  • Knowledge of probate and estate planning forms/procedures

  • Proficiency in Excel, Westlaw

  • Strong academic credentials 

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills with high attention to detail

  • Diligent work ethic

  • Results-oriented self-starter with a high level of initiative 

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment with internal and external contacts at all levels

  • Ability to manage competing demands and frequently changing priorities

  • Ability to maintain confidential information

  • Proficient at working in a Microsoft Windows environment; basic to intermediate spreadsheet skills; ability to master common automated systems for record keeping, and confidently learn new technology

  • Flexible team player and skilled collaborator

  • Flexibility, maturity, and a sense of humor

  • Ability to talk on the telephone
