Paid Fellowship ($6,300) Available through Laurel Rubin Farmworker Justice Project.

Northwest Justice Project Farmworker Unit seeks summer interns to join a team of experienced attorneys and outreach specialists in serving migrant farm workers throughout the state of Washington. Interns will join labor camp outreach, community engagement and legal advocacy efforts to further farmworker justice in the State.

Law students will work with attorneys on ongoing cases, which include claims of farmworker sexual harassment, discrimination, pesticide safety, wage theft, labor rights and the H-2A temporary visa program. Northwest Justice Project is the LSC funded staffed Legal Services program for Washington State. The internship runs for 10 weeks.

Interns may also have the opportunity to work on cases or campaigns associated with the Campesina Digna project. The Campesina Digna project builds capacity for individual farmworkers and their communities to combat rampant workplace sexual violence and harassment affecting farmworkers in Washington. Campesina Digna integrates legal education, litigation, and increased access to victim services to secure justice for survivors of sexual harassment, create a safe work environment for all farmworkers, and ultimately change the culture of the agricultural industry in rural Washington communities by ending tolerance for sexual violence in the workplace.
