Texas Women Lawyers have established a website listing a number of projects by other Texas bar organizations, including the following: the State Bar of Texas, connecting attorneys with pro bono opportunities (including an emergency order allowing in-state attorneys to handle these matters through at least September); Lone Star Legal Aid and the Texas Bar Foundation, providing and funding legal assistance (including at the main shelter in Houston); and HelpProfessionWomen.com and Association of Women Attorneys, collecting and distributing professional attire and accessories (to attorneys, paralegals, assistants, and others in the legal industry and elsewhere).

TWL has a regularly-scheduled board meeting tomorrow morning. We will discuss holding a fundraiser event sometime this fall to address mid- to long-term needs of those in the local legal community. We will also vote to sign on as a co-sponsor to the AWA-led clothing drive. More information about that drive can be found here:

Thanks again for your thoughts and messages, as they really do help people to continue on in their work and efforts. I encourage you to send the same to people you know who are currently threatened by Irma or who are still dealing with cleanup from Harvey.
