    The Civil Division of the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking experienced employment law attorneys to fill two positions in our Labor and Employment Section.

     

    One position will advise County clients (Executive, King County Council, our office, Superior and District Court) on all aspects of labor and employment law, including but not limited to discrimination issues, workplace investigations and discipline, wage and hour issues, leave issues and COVID-19 vaccination issues. The other position will primarily advise the King County Sheriff’s Office on all aspects of labor and employment law, including those areas identified above, and this position is expected to have a partial physical presence in the Sheriff’s Office. Both attorneys will represent the County in labor arbitrations and in other administrative forums, including the King County Personnel Board and the Washington Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC).

    Kutak Rock LLP’s Spokane office is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of complex commercial litigation and/or employment litigation experience. Experience in intellectual property litigation is beneficial, but not required. This role affords the opportunity to work in Spokane or remotely in a busy litigation practice in the Firm’s expanding regional and national litigation practice. If the candidate is not based in Spokane, the candidate must have the ability to be present in Spokane as needed.

     

    The ideal candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, solid academic performance, and the ability to be strategic and analytical. The candidate must be self-motivated with the drive to help shape and expand a growing practice, and have experience analyzing, researching, and drafting briefs addressing sophisticated legal issues in complex litigation, ranging from state and federal court motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, and appeals. Prior court room and/or trial experience as well as clerkship experience are preferred.
